Correct play
Raise 3×Any pair is an automatic 3× raise on the first decision. You already hold a made hand that pushes at worst (a pair of 6s–10s) or pays (Jacks or better), and it can still improve to trips, a full house, or quads — so you want maximum money in.
Mississippi Stud's first-street rule is simple: raise 3× with any pair, raise 1× with two points, and otherwise fold. A pair clears that bar easily.
