- How do the bets work?
- You place equal Ante and Blind bets and an optional Trips bonus. You then make one Play bet: 4× your ante before the flop, 2× after the flop, or 1× at the river — or you fold. The larger, earlier bet rewards committing to strong hands.
- Which hands should I raise 4× pre-flop?
- Raise 4× with any pair of 3s or higher, any ace, K-2 suited / K-5 offsuit or better, Q-6 suited / Q-8 offsuit or better, and J-8 suited / J-10 offsuit or better; otherwise check. Our pre-flop strategy pages cover every two-card hand.
- What is the Trips bonus?
- Trips is an optional side bet that pays on your final five-card hand if it's three of a kind or better — regardless of whether you beat the dealer — up to 50-to-1 for a royal flush.
- When does the dealer qualify?
- The dealer needs at least a pair to 'open.' If the dealer doesn't qualify, your Ante pushes, so betting decisions revolve around the strength of your final hand, not just beating the dealer.
- Is it really free to practice?
